History
In 1999, while developing an enterprise Order Entry System for Linux, two of the current founders discovered a huge gap in the availability of "Linux-native" credit card processing software. Main Street was created and our engineers started from scratch on the design and development of what has envolved into the Monetra™ payment engine, now supporting credit cards and gift cards.
Today, Main Street's innovation and leadership is fundamentally transforming how payment systems are deployed, secured, and managed; setting the standard by which enterprises deliver payment capabilities across their extended enterprises.
Inspired by open software designs, advances in Internet technologies, and increased corporate use of alternative Operating Systems, Main Street engineers have developed what is today the core of Monetra's copywritten technology.
