Main Street announces Monetra® release 5.3.1
Gainesville, FL-- Main Street Softworks, Inc., today announced the public release of their Monetra payment processing software system version 5.3.1
This version is licensed, distributed and supported across all major operating systems. Native server builds are currently available for Linux, FreeBSD, IBM AIX, SCO Unix, Sun Solaris, Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows® systems.
New features in this version include a fully FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic subsystem alongside support for RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) payment cards.
Monetra can now be configured to run its cryptographic subsystem in a validated FIPS-140-2 mode.
FIPS-140-2 provides a standard that must be used by Federal organizations (both US and Canadian) when these organizations specify that cryptographic-based security systems are to be used to provide protection for sensitive or valuable data. "By enabling the FIPS-140-2 cryptographic subsystem, we provide our Government Clients the ability to comply with both Federal and Card Association(CISP/PCI/PABP) requirements when using cryptographic-based security systems to protect sensitive data."
In addition to the new FIPS security enhancements, Monetra can now support a wide variety of contactless payment applications such as MasterCard® PayPass™, Visa® Contactless, ExpressPay from American Express® and Chase® Blink™. "With the backing of all major card associations, RFID is becoming a driving force for systems integrators within the Retail and QSR spaces. By supporting RFID across both Retail and Restaurant channels, Monetra Integrators can now take advantage of the speed and convenience offered by this technology."
